Johnny Roberts Memorial DGC      8001 W 59th Ave  Arvada, CO  80004

Be a part of something special from the very beginning! The 1st annual Wingsuit Open is a charity fundraiser for The Mockingbird Foundation who supports music education and access for children. Celebrating the music of Phish when they’re in town at Dicks S.G.P. this event is open to beginners and experienced players alike. Sanctioned as an official PDGA Competition Endowment Program tournament XC-tier, playing one round of 18 holes with your choice of tee time at the Johnny Roberts Memorial disc golf course in Arvada, which was recently named a 5280 Magazine 2023 Reader’s Choice as the best disc golf course in Denver.

Players pack for all amateur divisions includes a custom stamped Discmania disc, custom stamped towel, Trash Panda recycled mini, Coffee Ban cold brew and a bag of DoubleG jerky valued at $57. Amateurs will receive a trophy for top winners and professionals will be paid out via PayPal after the event. Professionals can also buy a players pack to pickup at the event if they want to. Non-playing supporters can also purchase a players pack which will include shipping but does not include the cold brew coffee for $60.

In addition to the PDGA round there will also be mini disc golf and putting competition extra fun events which will also donate proceeds to The Mockingbird Foundation. Mini and putting can be played at anytime and winners will be sent a prize after the event. So anyone can compete if they want and not have to stick around after their tee time. Choose your tee-time and even sign up your buddies at the same time to ensure you can all play together.

To align with the sister ball golf event “The Runaway Open” also in Arvada, early bird registration will be $40 until July 4, $50 until August 12 and $60 for the final weeks before the event. Straight donation amounts also available on registration page as well as sponsorship opportunities from $25 - $2500.

EXTRA FUN EVENTS OVERVIEW

You will receive a scorecard during player check-in after registering online. Anyone can play as many extra fun events as they wish, including over and over again to get the best score, by purchasing additional scorecards at tournament central. Top extra fun events winners will be paid out via PayPal after the event.

MINI DISC GOLF $10

Before or after your tee time play the 9-hole mini disc golf course for some of the most fun you've ever had with a frisbee. Try to contain your happiness and joy as you throw your own minis up to 4.5", which excludes the junior size discs. I will also have heavy mini drivers for sale which make a real difference. Half of the entry fees will be donated to The Mockingbird Foundation, half will be payout via PayPal after the event.

PUTTING COMPETITION $10

Official Tournament Charity

The Mockingbird Foundation

The Mockingbird Foundation broadens access and educational opportunities for young people in music and the musical arts.

The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1997 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community and beyond. Since we’re entirely volunteer administrative costs are less than 5% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $2.1M to support music education for children – 606 grants in all 50 states!

Funds are raised through individual donations; projects including Phish.netThe Phish Companion (the definitive encyclopedia of Phish information), and Sharin’ in the Groove (a wildly successful two-disc tribute album); special events, including wine tastings and golf tournaments; unique donation premiums and branded merchandise available from the Phish.net Store; as well as through various related strategic partnerships, a portion of LivePhish proceeds, and third-party benefit events.

Mockingbird started as an all-volunteer non-profit in 1996 in order to raise money for music education for children. The original impetus was the compilation of the most accurate and literary book on Phish’s music available. We’ve done that, in three highly successful editions, as well as taken on a wide range of projects, including an albumartspecial events, and branded merchandise.

The Mockingbird Foundation has no salaries, paid staff, office space, or endowment — thus distributing all possible funds to charity. No director or volunteer benefits financially from the Foundation in any way, and all proceeds from Mockingbird projects are donated to tax-exempt organizations. The Foundation’s primary purpose is charitable, with more than $1.9M in grants to 534 grantees covering all 50 states.
