The party has started.

Surviving historic wildfire and a pandemic, one of the best summer fun events in northern Colorado is back! Celebrating the longest day of of the year we’ll be starting later than normal and provide multiple frisbee events for maximum fun and camaraderie. Lodging, food, beer, snacks, water, rec room and more are available on-site. In addition to the two-round PDGA B-Tier sanctioned disc golf tournament, extra fun Putting Competition, Glow Round and Accuracy Challenge events plus a 9-Hole Mini Disc Golf Course will be available with half of those entry fees going to charity.

As always in an effort to help grow the sport, all women and junior divisions get to register a week earlier than everyone else. Each tournament entry fee includes $10 greens fees and $15 dinner Saturday evening. Everyone can register one-entry to any or all extra fun events during online registration. Tournament rounds and the Glow round will be scheduled but all other extra fun events are to be played on your own time. The Putting Competition will be 2 rounds with first round being Saturday and the finals being played out immediately following the second round, before the award ceremony. All extra fun events scorecards must be turned in before 10:00am Sunday morning to count.

All of this fun is contained on a gorgeous ranch at around 8000 feet elevation near Red Feather Lakes, CO about 45 minutes northwest of Fort Collins and about 2 hours north of Denver. Sundance Trail Guest Ranch is a little remote and has limited cell service. But there is wifi near the rec room and main lodge.

There is a nice fire ring right by tournament central which would be an excellent opportunity for jams or sing-a-longs Saturday night. Nothing electric please, but bring your guitar if you’re repertoire includes songs most people would know and love.

June is absolutely gorgeous with wildflowers and green everywhere but can also be wet. I’ll try to get bridges and provide course updates but just be prepared for anything, as it is indeed the Colorado mountains.

TOURNAMENT

PDGA B-Tier will be one-round of 21 holes per day, starting around 1:00pm with a literal shotgun start. Mountain course with a great mix of tight wooded holes and wide open drives. It is all raw ranch land and mountain terrain with natural tees with beautiful Colorado views. Recommend sunscreen, drinking lots of water and good supportive footwear. Planning on having water on the course unless that isn’t allowed. Most divisions offered upon registration opening, but may consolidate divisions closer to the event.

GLOW ROUND $6

Disc golf after dark is amazingly fun and safe too. Playing at least 10 holes, maybe 11 with lights on the baskets and glow sticks to light your way through the course and on the tees too. Bring your own led or glow-in-the-dark discs. I’ll have a couple uv flashlights available. Divisions and awards based on interest, cash payout is half of total entries, other half donated to charity. Map and more info to come.

Divisions and awards based on interest, cash payout is half of total entries, other half donated to charity. Map and more info to come.

PUTTING COMPETITION $6

9 stations using your own putters with two throws from each station. Only mark each putt made. First round is anytime Saturday morning until 1 hour before Sunday morning players meeting. Top ranked players will advance to Putting Finals to be played immediately after the second round just before awards. Those advancing to finals will be announced at Sunday mornings players meeting. PDGA DIGITAL SCORECARD

We will be using the PDGA Digital Scorecard for this B-Tier and will also use paper scorecards as a backup. This should make things easier, quicker and will also provide live scoring for this watching at home, when the app has internet access.

Please click on PDGA website link below to learn how to use the PDGA Digital Scorecard before the tournament. We are doing Players Meetings near wifi and this will be the only time the PDGA Live Scoring needs internet access for login, start of round, and end of round verification and upload.

HERE IS PDGA DIGITAL SCOREBOARD HELP WEBSITE.
